Jessy’s Story

Site created on January 11, 2019

On December 28th, Jessy was diagnosed with and advanced stage of Peritoneal cancer. She is currently awaiting the start of chemotherapy as she had some other conditions which were preventing her initial start date.

This site it to share updates and offer encouragement as she endures this battle.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Jamie Baker

It was nice to see Mom without her feeding tube today! Also, Braelyn braided her hair and it looks beautiful. 😍 She is also breathing on her own without the oxygen, and she was able to have some vegetable broth today. Her regular doctor is out of town, so she saw a new doctor today and he warned her of the dangers of pneumonia or congestive heart failure. It sounds like they expect her to be in the ICU until next week and then continue her recovery at the hospital for another 4-5 weeks. They let us use an electric razor so I attempted to shave her lets. She is very weak and almost unable to lift her legs, so I am encouraging her to do let extensions and foot flexion exercises while in bed, especially since they have removed the DVT compression stockings. They have removed her catheter so they will be assisting her with using the portable toilet they brought into her room.  Let’s all keep encouraging her to practice breathing exercises and small leg exercises so she will build back her strength to endure the chemo.
