Journal entry by Jessica Horneck

This was a very very very scary day. I had my mom and my husband there with me. We had to get there early because I had to have some sort of test dont where they inject my boob with some die and take some photos.
The nurses told my mom and husband it would only take 30 mins for this and it took longer so they got a little scare at first.
The nurses were so nice and amazing the whole time I was down there. I fell asleep a couple times. ;)
Then they brought me back up and got my other gown on and get me all prepped for the surgery. Got my IVs in and earrings that were still in taped up. Had to sign some sheets. Met with all the doctors before hand to get all on board.
I remember they injected me with something in the room right before we left. I said my goodbyes and of course my mom got teary eyed so of course so did I.
I remember them wheeling me out of the room in the hallway talking with the doctors. We got to them room and I can see all these people in the room and all the big lights! Then I was asleep!
It's time to wake up! O M G!
I woke up wanting water and trying to figure out what the heck happened!
The nurses kept giving me ice chips and asking how I was doing!
I remember the pain was insane and aweful!
I was pretty out of it!
I dont rememeber the rest of the day really except for I could not get this excruciating pain to stop!
Of course they wake you up every 2 hrs to check vitals so sleep wasnt that great. I had a sore in my mouth from how it must have been during the surgery and the back of my head hurt so bad!
Omg I do rememeber I could itch my own face or wipe my own nose! Had to have someone do that for me!
So Tuesday came I was a little more awake. Still the pain was insane and I just cried a lot of and on. Had some family visit me there.
I do remember I had to get up and go to the bathroom on my own finally and that was even worse yet than laying down!
I needed so much help to just get up and get there! I just know I cried a ton everytime I had to go there! I could barely even wipe myself!
I remember I got to eat Wendy's chicken nuggets and have a dr pepper! It was delish! Actually I think I remember waking up Tuesday and was super hungry so I had eggs and bacon which hit the spot! I hadn't eaten at all Monday.
I should have gone home Tuesday but I couldn't go home in this much pain. So they tried a bunch of things and finally got it to be somewhat tolerable.
So I stayed one more night.
Wednesday morning for some reason is a blur I just remember it felt like forever for the discharge and getting out.
The pain getting in the wheel chair and var was aweful! I remember the car ride home was painful! Dont remember getting home.
Not sure I remember the first couple days at home but I think I slept a lot and cried a lot. It was hard to have everyone do everything for you. Having the drains in and being impaired was such an awful feeling!
My family was such an amazing help and my friends were as well! Even my kids did really good with helping me!
The days went on and each day was def a new one.....
