Jessica’s Story

Site created on July 28, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We will be using this site to update on the whole family. Thank you for visiting.

On Sunday evening July 26, 2020, Jessica, Dustin and Reese were returning home from hockey and were in a horrific car accident.  Jessica was driving with Reese in the seat behind her and Dustin was in the passenger seat.  They were hit head-on at a very high rate of speed by a drunk driver.  Their lives changed in an instant.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Karla Sirman

I wanted to take this moment to give one last update on caringbridge.

I am healing well and walking much better. My pain is tolerable most days and I’m sleeping better at night. I’m not 100% but that’s going to take some time. I’m doing PT and able to do more and more each day. I have my bad days but that’s to be expected. My femur isn’t quite healed yet but it’s coming along.

I have life and for that I’m thankful for God keeping me here to be with my family and watch my kids grow. It’s hard to not mention Dr Scalea who saved my life and took on my daughter as well. His knowledge and amazing bedside manner blew me away.

I’m so thankful for all of you. For your thoughts and prayers. We couldn’t have done it without your support, love, and generosity.
Again, thank you for everything.
