Journal entry by Mary and Don Jurek

It's been 13 months since Jesse's surgery and he had his follow-up with the surgeon's office.  After having an EOS and CT scan, the surgeon and her PA reviewed the results.  They say the bone is fusing around the rod as it should and probably at the best it's going to be.  He can discontinue using the bone stimulator if he chooses.  He is able to return to work when he feels physically ready and able to go for it.  Pretty much, things are as good as they're going to be.   Later in the day today, he was notified that they also saw a nodule on his thyroid upon further review of the tests.  They suggested he see his primary Dr. for an ultrasound. referral to check this out.    Please continue to keep him in your prayers as he decides on returning to work, and for negative testing of the nodule.  When I ask him if the surgery was all worth it - he says Maybe-Maybe not!
