What a very relaxing day.

Jesseca was able to rest most of the day today. The doctors plan on taking her off of narcotics soon, which will allow her to become more aware of her surroundings and allow her body to recover from all the drugs.

It is hard for us to answer when she will be allowed to have visitors, as we are leaving it completely up to her. We want to hear from her first if she is ready and comfortable to have people coming in and out throughout the day. Therefore, we are just going to let her rest tomorrow until further notice.

Tomorrow and Sunday should bring some quiet and down time for us as a family, which will be much needed. We are so thankful that both surgeries went well and she impressed so many doctors by her youthfulness and drive to recover. Shoutout to Dr. Lafferty, her amazing orthopedic surgeon!

Jesseca’s right clavicle surgery went very well! Her surgeon is very reassuring that she will be able to use it immediately as much as she can. As far as the rib breaks, he believes that no surgery is needed to repair them.

Now it is just time to rest, recover, and get strong. We will update later tonight if she will be able to have visitors tomorrow!

Also, Famous Daves is trying to organize a dinner fundraiser in honor of Jesseca. There will also be a silent auction. Time and date will be determined as soon as we can figure something out!

Jesseca had a somewhat restless night last night, but is still more awake and aware today. Her ortho surgeon wants to do a surgery tomorrow morning to repair her right clavicle. He believes she will be able to use it immediately after surgery which will help with her mobility as she cannot walk for 6 weeks.

Because of this, we still ask for no visitors as of now. Jesseca is getting stronger and stronger everyday and looks much better than before. It’s crazy to believe that is already been a week since the accident!

Thank you for all your support💜

Jesseca decided to self extubate in the middle of the night last night (she pulled her own breathing tube out last night). So since she has that tube out, she is much more awake!

She is able to answer questions, and although “loopy” she does very well with knowing and trying to understand things. She even makes a certain “finger notion” to people (mainly the medical staff). Today should be an exciting day!

Jesseca has been comfortable resting all day. They plan on taking the breathing tube out within the next 24 hours as they feel she is much stronger and ready.

She continues to remain on narcotics as of now, as well as some sedation. She is 100% breathing on her own as well! Tomorrow should be an eventful day.

We will continue to keep updating as we go along.

Jesseca is resting comfortable with the breathing tube back in. She was also placed back on narcotics and sedation. Jesse “needs to walk for awhile before she starts to run again”.

Thank you all again for your your prayers and support.

Today was a very “rocky” day for Jesseca. She started out very strong as they took her completely off of narcotics and was even able to say a few words. She knew her mom, dad, and even had a few “choice words” with her sister ;). I’ll take it!

However, after having PT and a very tiring day, the doctors chose to put the breathing tube back in as her lungs are too weak. They will go back to sedating her more now in order to make her feel comfortable. She needs to heal and get stronger before they take it off permanently.

Because of this again, we ask that only family is allowed to see and visit. We will continue to update on this site.

The doctors warned us that this was going to be a long, painful and difficult process. None of us truly slept well, and haven’t been sleeping knowing the amount of pain this accident has caused Jesseca.

Due to the risk of her possibly having to have her breathing tube put back in, Jesseca needs to rest and start phase one of recovery. We are asking that as of now until further, no visitors will be allowed to see Jesseca besides family members.

Thank you for your cooperation and respect.

Jesseca had a very eventful day!

Getting the breathing tube out allowed some relief to her, however her pain levels seem to be immensely high (who’s wouldn’t with multiple broken ribs and two collapsed lungs?). She still is not completely conscious, but she is awake more often now and responds to many commands and is fighting hard to communicate.

We anticipate that she will need to rest most of the incoming days now, so we are limiting visiting hours with her dramatically. Tomorrow, we ask that if you are going to visit, you come between the hours of 3-7pm. However, like today, these hours could change and we might stop them completely for the day. Jesseca’s rest is top priority right now.

Seeing the amount of people stop by not only for her, but for our family as warmed our hearts incredibly. The amount of people asking how they can help is enormous, and we truly feel thankful for you all!

We will continue to update as much as we can. Thank you for your patience, respect, prayers and support.

Jesseca was fighting to breathe on her own so the docs took her tube out! She is breathing on her own as of now and is resting well. We are sorry to inform those who were planning on visiting later today but we are respectively asking to just be with her as a family for the rest of the day. We will update today and tomorrow for visiting.

Shes a fighter! That tube was going to come out whether the doctor did it or Jesseca got ahold of it!
