As a tribute to Jerry and with deep respect for his personal values and generosity of spirit, the Greiner and Flynn families are pleased to establish the JERRY GREINER FUND for the READING COLLEGIATE SCHOLARS (RCSP) to support deserving students at Alvernia University. 

The fund will help underwrite global intercultural experiences in study and/or service for talented, inner-city, first-generation students in the Reading Collegiate Scholars Program. (The initial cohort of scholars included several award-winning students and boasted a 100% graduation rate;  subsequent cohorts of Reading Scholars have also achieved impressive records of success.) 

This fund honors Jerry’s distinguished four-decade career in private higher education and his leadership in and commitment to global engagement. And it is established in recognition of his dedication to Alvernia’s inclusive Franciscan mission and his contributions to the University both as a volunteer and donor and as a beloved provost. Jerry’s family background also made him passionate about the mission of the Reading Collegiate Scholars Program.

All gifts in Jerry’s honor will be used to support the Greiner Fund.
