Journal entry by Jennifer Berg (Daas) —
You would think I would not be so surprised by answers of "Yes" to prayer.... but I'm still shocked and grateful.
Update:
My dad got the all clear for chemo, just as we prayed. His platelet count was good enough. :)
The reason for my delay in posting is because of the few bumps in the road since his treatment.
He gets just plain worn out from the treatment..... especially these last few. He was not hungry..... and had the typical sore throat and just overall feeling unwell... for many days after treatment.
He was dizzy and fell while home alone last week, but drove himself to the ER..... and then we went BACK to the ER 2 days after the fall, and they found a bit of an infection. He received IV fluid electrolytes and a few tasty meals and was able to return home feeling much more comfortable.
There is never a dull moment.
He is meeting with some in home care providers now.... since he is mending a bit and doesn't need a care facility just yet.
He has kids that love him, with spare bedrooms, but the guy wants peace and quiet 🥰 can't blame him!
His second to last round of chemo is coming up.... toward the end of Aug. We know much better how to help and what to expect... and for that, I thank God.
Pray for the nurses and the care team to care for him well, with wisdom... and for his platelets again..... to be renewed for the next round.
Today, I'm thankful for the skilled and kind staff at Ridgeview ER in Waconia.... and for dinner with my dad last night .
