Jerry’s Story

Site created on January 1, 2024

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Jerry Cozzi (my dad) was diagnosed with Diffused Large B Cell “Double Hit” (MYC and BCL6) Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma with “High risk features” (brain involvement). He has been so sick with symptoms beginning early January 2023. He endured six rounds of week-long inpatient chemo therapy. After all of this chemo he thought he was done with treatment and could get back to his regular life but life is never that simple – and cancer treatment isn’t done until it’s done. My dad needs a second round of treatment in 2024 that was not expected for any of us.

Together, we his family and friends will rally around him in support and determination to fight, battle and win!

Newest Update

Journal entry by Brooke Miller

Update on my dad from my mom:
“He is doing quite well. He does tire quite easily and quickly though. He is starting physical therapy next week to help rebuild muscle strength and stamina. His childhood immunizations were wiped out during the transplant so he has no immunity right now. He will go to Mayo in June for a PET scan and will start to receive his immunizations in August.
We are hoping to have some summer fun and see family that we haven’t seen since he got sick, (get some sense of normalcy back).”
Picture: “He’s looking forward to being a grandpa!!!”
