Newest Update

Journal entry by Jeremy Lovy

Hello friends, it's been about 7 months since I last posted and I have some updates today. I had just started my career as an RN the last time I posted and I definitely love being a nurse. I think my experiences with illness gives me insight and helps me form connections with patients. My biggest insight I've gained is that most people just want to feel like they are being heard. A lot of times I find if I can spend an extra 5 minutes chatting with a patient, the patient tends to fair better with their hospitalization. It is tough sometimes to find the time though, as nursing is a very busy profession, but I try to make time where I can.
I had another MRI which showed no signs on cancer! My blood work was perfect as well. I got a new oncologist with the VA and he seems like a good doctor. I will be going for a CT of my head, neck, abdomen, and pelvic areas just to make sure nothing else looks suspicious.
Yesterday I had a knee surgery to snip out parts of my damaged meniscus, so I'm at home working on recovery. The surgery went well and I feel pretty good. I have a follow up in a couple weeks with the ortho surgeon. I have about 5 more weeks off from work and I'll spend that time focusing on strength and mobility. My goal is to get back to coaching wrestling and going to jiu jitsu classes, but that will come in good time.
My wife and I purchased our first home in Lebanon in July using the Veterans United Home Loan services. To be honest, Veterans United is a good company and helped us understand the process of buying our first home. We've been busy arranging the house the way we like. I am happy with our purchase and can't wait to further make it into "our home."
That's about it for now.
