Jeremy’s Story

Site created on April 6, 2018

Jeremy is a 44 year old husband and father that was diagnosed with a very rare liver disease called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) nearly 7 years ago. About 6 months ago, Jeremy was given the approval by his team of doctors to proceed with a living donor liver transplant. PSC is a very rare liver disease that affects the bile ducts of the liver. His bile ducts are slowly scarring shut at which point his liver will completely stop functioning. Currently Jeremy’s right side of the liver has unfortunately already scarred completely shut. One of the biggest concerns of this disease is that his liver will develop cancer before he qualifies for a cadaver donor and if cancer presents, unfortunately all efforts are lost. It is very important to find him a living donor before cancer presents.

In February, we were sent an angel. A very generous individual from our church volunteered to be Jeremy's donor. Joel, without hesitancy, went through all the testing required and was found to be a match for Jeremy.

On April 19, 2018, Jeremy and Joel will have a living donor surgery, where Joel will share a portion of his liver with Jeremy so that he can continue to live life fully .

We cannot say enough Thank You's to all for the continued prayers and support through this journey as a we truly believe God works in great ways and has plans for each and every one of us.                              ~In God’s Trust, Jeremy, Darcie, Jessica & Justin

Joel’s Story
After hearing of Jeremy's need for a liver transplant, Joel and Erin spent time over the next couple of weeks discussing and praying about whether or not Joel could be a donor.  Even from the very first conversation, both Joel and Erin thought and talked about the organ donation as if it were a certainty.  They decided to begin the donor evaluation process, committed to follow whatever path God may lay out.  Joel and Erin are excited to provide this gift to the Jolley family, and hope that people will see the gift as evidence of God's love at work within his followers.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Jeremy Jolley

Hello Everyone,

I thought I would give everyone a quick update....

Jeremy’s appointment went well in Denver last week. He had the last two remaining tubes removed and he is now free from anything hanging from him. He is feeling great and is not scheduled to return to Denver for another 3 weeks. It should be a nice break from traveling.

Joel is also continuing to do great and adjusting back to work well with working part time. His mom, Pat is here for a visit and getting to spend time with him and Erin.

Love to everyone,
Jeremy and Darcie
