Journal entry by Miriam Schmidt —
Jeremy finally got the drains pulled out of his back (I got to watch) in the late afternoon. Thankfully that was the last thing holding him in the hospital. He was discharged and we made our way out of St. Vincent's around 7pm this evening. Because of the late hour, we are staying in Billings tonight before we attempt what will likely be a long and not exactly comfortable drive to Big Sky tomorrow.
Jeremy is doing very well, but he is realizing that little things are not so little: Like getting into a car, or walking up or down steps, or sitting in just about any chair. But we're grateful that he can start tomorrow - his 52nd birthday - not in a hospital room.
