Journal entry by Jennifer Diallo —
Just a quick note to say that I have some good news…the chemo is working! I had scans and 6 blood tests yesterday, and all the results looked better. The report said, “No evidence of progressive disease since prior exam. Some pulmonary nodules have slightly decreased in size.” Nodules are either stable or slightly decreased in size compared to the previous scan. My cancer markers are still in the 400s but that is slightly less than last time which means my body is not detecting as much tumor activity.
It’s good to know that the chemo has slowed the roll and rapid expansion of cancer in my cells. Especially since my hair is falling out again and I was beginning to wonder whether this is worth the awful side effects. I feel renewed in my determination with this news. Every day is another opportunity for research to find new ways to fight this aggressive cancer diagnosis!
Tomorrow is another chemo treatment and I feel more able to withstand the onslaught of poison knowing that it is (finally!) doing something good. All your prayers, positive vibes and kind cards and messages have been a blessing and reinforced me during these last few, really hard, weeks. 🙏🏼🏆♥️
Thank you!
