Jennifer’s Story

Site created on June 24, 2019

On May 19th my mom sat my sister and I down to tell us she was diagnosed with breast cancer.  The good news is that they caught it at stage 0! So it's still in the cellular stage and with the help of technology and the highly trained doctors it is fully treatable. With much consideration mom has decided to get a double mastectomy so we don't have to worry about it returning and her surgery is set for Monday July 22nd. It will be a 10 hour surgery because while she is under they will be taking tissue from her stomach to reconstruct her breasts. This is a very invasive surgery and we want to make sure everyone is up to date with what's going on while mom is resting and recovering. So on that note, welcome back to Caring Bridge!

She makes me sound like a rock star, but...
At least I look good through the words of my beautiful daughter Haley Bilicki. And how lucky am I to have had my own personal CNA? Kelsey Bilicki
Couldn't have gone through this without them❤❤❤
If I had to make a choice of surgeries again, as horrifying a recovery it is, I would do the same thing all over again. I feel I have made the best choice for me.

There are a couple of others of you out there that I'm thankful to have helped me through as well. I would love to call you out also, but I'm going to guess you would prefer I don't.
As for anyone else who has participated in lifting my spirits, whether it was food made with love, cards sent with love, visits just because, it has meant the world to me💞 I must have done something right😉
But remember, it's not over til the fat lady sings!!!
