Jennifer’s Story

Site created on May 11, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.   Jennifer was diagnosed with Leukemia and lymphoma in May 2020 after being in St. Luke's University hospital for a week and a half with a sudden mysterious illness.   Jennifer was moved to Temple University Hospital/Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia to immediately begin chemotherapy  and remained there until July 15. She was then transferred to MOSS Rehabilitation Center in Philadelphia. On July 31, Jennifer was able to go home to her brother’s house in NJ and a couple of days later her brother and father helped transport her to TN. Currently, Jennifer is undergoing treatment at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Beth Cook

Hello all, latest medical update: because of the radiation I had about 1.5 years ago I have some retinal problems that the doctor had anticipated. For the next four months I will have one shot in my left eye once a month. Dr. Daniels says this won’t be as bad as the last twelve months of shots. I’ll decide on that after I receive the shots. Dr. Mohan says on the hematology side everything looks good and my blood work is excellent. There’s another MRI next month and if that continues to be stable, the maintenance medication will go bye-bye. I joined a local gym in Ooltewah to help with my strength and balance. This is one of the best delicious I have made. I can’t express in words what God has done for me. I thank you all for your prayers 😃 May God bless you all.
