Journal entry by Doree Jurow —
Embodying absolute optimism, Jen is on a determined path to wellness. After discovering a lump last month, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has every reason to be as optimistic as she is: she caught it at a fortuitously early stage, is otherwise healthy and oh-so physically strong, has enthusiastic support systems, and is bringing to this the same kind of positivity that she brings to everything in her life, like relationships, work, fitness.
In true Jen form, she whooped it up right up until she was scheduled for surgery. On Tuesday evening, She did her last-for-a-while spin, surrounded by friends whooping it up with her as we wished her well.
Just before the eating-drinking cutoff, she had a glass of champagne….And this morning she went in for surgery, which both her doctors report went well! She should be released late this afternoon and will head home to begin recovering.
