Jen was born with a hereditary kidney disease called Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). PKD is a progressive disease that decreases kidney function and eventually leads to the need for kidney transplant. Jen lost her grandmother, aunt and mother to this disease. Now at 46 years old Jen is in need of a transplant.
Due to all of the loss in her life she tries to approach life with a “live like you were dying” attitude. She tries to not to sweat the small stuff and is careful to embrace each moment so that she is able to truly appreciate life.
The most important roles in Jen’s life are being wife, to Mark, mother to Emma, Hayden and Cory, and friend to many. Jen's husband Mark has worked for the Hamilton County Sheriff's office as a deputy for 26 years. Emma is currently in the work force. Hayden is a freshmen at UC and Cory is a 5th grader at Three Rivers.
When she is not spending time with family she is caring for people in her role as an ER nurse for TriHealth. Prior to becoming a nurse she was a fundraiser/event planner. In her 20 year fundraising career she worked for Seton High School and a small non-profit called Urban Appalachian Council.
