Jeneane’s Story

Site created on September 7, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. On Friday, September 3rd, Jeneane tripped over a hose that was left across the walkway of her home by a construction worker. She hit her head and developed a significant brain bleed. While being seen at Meridian Park Emergency Room, Jeneane's brain swelled to the point of herniating into her spinal cavity and she slipped into a coma. She was placed on a ventilator and was transported by LifeFlight to Emmanuel Hospital where she had emergency surgery to remove a large blood clot from the surface of her brain. Jeneane awoke from the coma but she has a significant battle ahead of her. We trust that God has her in the palm of His hand and He will take good care of her. Unfortunately, because of covid restrictions, all Portland hospitals have a very strict no-visitor policy, so we have been kept away and not allowed to see her. Some of the family members have been able to speak to her via FaceTime on a hospital provided iPad. Because the brain bleed affected the speech center of her brain she is unable to respond. We covet your prayers as we ask the Lord to restore her speech. If you know Jeneane/Mom/Grammy, you know that she is not the silent type so seeing her unable to speak is devastating. Check back frequently for updates.
