I will continue to post on this site to keep all Jeff's friends and family updated on the progress of Jeff's celebration of life party. I am currently working on scraping together the funds for the cremation service, his urn and the venue for his party. I got lucky on the venue, a very kind couple have offered their place, at a huge discount. The other fronts are a bit more problematic. I received a phone call from my back on Sunday. Jeff and my joint checking account was hacked. Fortunately, there was only about $26 in it, as the checking account where Jeff's paycheck is deposited was not affected directly. The bank put a freeze on our joint account, but because my name is not on Jeff's checking account, I was forced to give up his debit card. I won't have access to his last paycheck until, i receive my new bank card, present the bank with his death certificate and then change the account to only my name then fill out a bunch of paperwork to get the funds in jeffs account transferred to my new one.
Hopefully this won't be as despicable as it seems.
I will keep you informed on my progress, I was hoping to be able to have Jeff's party next Tuesday, I'll keep my fingers crossed.
