Jeff suffered a seizure on August 29, 2020.  An MRI at Bayfront Hospital revealed a 3+ cm mass on his left frontal lobe, suspected to be a type of glioma.  After much deliberation and meeting with several surgeons and medical teams near and far, we decided to proceed with a craniotomy at Duke. On September 16th, surgeons were able to remove 99% of the tumor, and on September 22nd we learned that the tumor was an Anaplastic Astrocytoma (grade 3).  Jeff will now begin a treatment plan that will include radiation and chemotherapy.  He will also participate in a clinical trial at Duke.
