Jeff’s Story

Site created on August 26, 2020

After an unexpected diagnosis of severe anemia resulted in an emergency blood transfusion, and many medical tests to discover the source, on July 23, 2020 Jeff faced the difficult news that a large mass had been found in his colon. Additional tests showed that the cancerous mass had spread to his lymph nodes as well as his liver.

Jeff is facing a prolonged fight to beat the cancer. His care team has recommended an aggressive treatment plan including multiple rounds of chemotherapy and likely multiple surgeries.

Despite these difficult times we know that we are extremely blessed in so many ways, for instance in our wonderful family and friends. We are just at the beginning of our journey, and it is difficult to know what we will need in the future. With so many generous offers to help we wanted to create a page that you can get updates and share in Jeff's journey, send messages to Jeff, and find ways to be of help to Jeff and the family.

We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

With love,
Jeff, Titania, Cynthia, Lorelei, Beatrix

Journal entry by Ti Gauger

Jeff has been released for good behavior, and after a brief tour through all of the Madison, WI potholes I was able to get him home.  He is still pretty sore, and will spend the next few weeks resting and recovering. 💜💜💜 Hopefully he will have a chance to enjoy some of this beautiful weather.... 🌱🌱🌱
