Journal entry by Paula Cagle —
Well as everyone has probably heard my darling has left us. 😔 I had to quite being selfish in trying to keep him here with us. He was strong for me but miserable too. Besides all the very special time I got to spend with him by his side, loving him, doting on him and talking to him in South Carolina, his last days were the most beautiful to me. The four of us Jill, Jared, Jeffie and I spent all day with him watching him, touching him, listening to him snore 😴🥰 and reminiscing of the beautiful life he made for us! Even though it was better than 12 hours just sitting, it went by extremely fast.
Daddy waiting until it was only him and his best friend for life in the room to take his last breath. He couldn’t go when Jill and I were in there and that was very sweet to me. Even though when I returned from my walk and Jeffie told me he passed, first thing out of my mouth to him was “you stinker!” But I have to say the look on my beautiful mans face was that of relief and it warmed my heart. His struggles were over. I also feel a peace when I think of him now traveling warp speeds over all of us! 150mph was just his warm up! I see him smiling big with his new body traveling like no one could ever imagine! I have my moments but mostly when I see others whose hearts hurt from the loss of this incredible man I’ve been blessed with for 45 yrs. So please don’t be sad for me, it makes it harder. We’ve had a most incredible life that I will be forever grateful to him for and I’m a bit jealous of his spot today but as he’s relayed to me, I have life here still until we are together again❣️
The final arrangements will be discussed this evening and I will be sure that information will be sent out as soon as possible so all of you can have a chance to say good bye (for now) in whatever way you chose. It’s been a blessing and an honor to witness all the love and admiration everyone has for him! He is truly deserving of it all. My love to you all and my hopes are for you to also find peace within. ❤️
