Jeanne’s Story

Site created on April 6, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Saturday, April 3, was a beautiful day to enjoy the outdoors. That is exactly what Jeanne decided to do, by going 4 wheeling with her son, Jay. They were having a good time until Jay looked back and Jeanne was not behind him any longer. Apparently she caught some loose gravel, or possibly ruts in the ditch, causing her to leave the ditch, cross the roadway and strike a mailbox. Lucky for them the first passerby was an EMT that attended to Jeanne until police and ambulance crew could take over her care. We don’t know who that EMT was but we owe them our deepest gratitude!!

The ambulance took Jeanne to the Bemidji hospital who assessed her condition of a broken ankle, broken humorous, but more seriously, bleeding on the brain. She was then sent by helicopter to Fargo where they have a better neurology department.

Journal entry by Laura Stubbe

On Monday Jeanne was moved to PAM Rehabilitation in Fargo.  I’m not sure what happened to her being transferred to a rehab in Bemidji. But for now she is there.

On Tuesday one of the nurses there called her “Norma” and apparently got quite the rise out of her!  She is doing well!

Today Jay informed us she is participating more in her rehabilitation and eating more!!

So progress is being made!!  All good news!
