Thank you all for your support with Jean’s fundraiser. It was a great turnout with many surprise donations. There is a short article in the Southsider Voice that we are sharing. Keep up the prayers and kind thoughts especially as Jean begins another cycle of Ibrance at a lower dose. She has also seen a nutritionist so if you are bringing her food make it healthy, low sugar, lots of fruits and veggies 🍅 http://www.southsidervoice.com/top-stories/cancer-patient-family-asking-for-prayers-support
Thank you family and friends for the support you have provided Jeannie and her family, it is appreciated. Jean continues to have the side and back pain and is managing with pain medication. Her WBC was down to 2 this week and Ibrance was stopped and will be re-evaluated on her next appointment. Promising news received from the Genomics office at Simon Cancer Center with options in medications to use later in treatment. Right now she is just managing her day by day symptoms. Jean continues to keep that hopeful attitude, which is a blessing. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers!
Jean has had a rough week. She is having some back pain that has slowed her down. She has medicine to manage the pain but that is still being refined to keep her comfortable. She is starting to feel some effects from her cancer medication also. Please keep her in your thought and prayers. She has plans for a very busy May/June with one son graduating high school and leaving for the army and another son getting married and leaving for the army, plus retiring from her job. So much to do and trying to keep the energy up😬 Remember April 26th is the fundraiser. Keep following this page for updates. Thank you all, Laura
Jean has started her Ibrance medication. Waiting to see what kind of side effects she will have but so far it is business as usual. She has taken time off from her job and is considering early retirement. Her son, Ben, is working on a fundraiser with his place of work so stay tuned for details. She had a pleasant Easter with family. Her only request right now is continued prayers, so keep it up everyone.
Jeannie had her follow ups this past week with the IU oncologist from her hospital stay and an additional appointment with the Simon Cancer center team. It appears that her growths at this time are related to her breast cancer from years ago. She is on letrozole (Femara) at this time and they are considering treatment with Ibrance to stabilize her condition. These are both oral chemo agents. The Simon center has more of a genetic approach and it looks promising but they will not be able to make a true treatment plan for 6-8 weeks when genetic and pathology testing comes back. Please continue to keep Jeannie and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Jeannie has a strong faith and has been evaluating all her options/choices and the many things that are so important to her.
3/09/2018. Jeannie received news this week that she is diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer. She is scheduled for a biopsy on 3/12 Monday. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Check in on this site for updates that Cammy and I will post. ❤️
