Journal entry by Friends of Jean Faust —
Just a short update. Karen Mountain, Clint Haskins and I ((Bonnie Driskill) accompanied Jean to her home town of Burke, South Dakota where we held a graveside service with some of her relatives and hometown friends. She was buried next to her sister and parents. Her little community welcomed us warmly and we stayed to visit with them after the service. They joyfully shared many memories of Jean’s school years and it made us all smile to hear about a side of Jean we did not know!! After some tears then some much needed laughter I said a final earthly goodbye to my best friend and I thanked God for allowing me to be a little piece of her life. She enriched my life in ways that will last till I too am gone. What a joy to be assured that some day soon I will see my precious friend again and this time there will be no cancer, no tears and no goodbyes!! Thank you to each and every one who who prayed, called, sent cards/flowers, visited her, cooked meals and brought her special treats, you made Jean’s last days so much more pleasant. You were all greatly Loved and appreciated !!
A $25 donation to CaringBridge powers a site like Jean's for two weeks. Will you make a gift to help ensure that this site stays online for them and for you?
