Newest Update

Journal entry by Dara Aldy

I  haven’t typed an update on Jean in several weeks. I just can’t deal with sad when it comes to her. The thought that kept running through my mind was, 🎶🎵🎶 “It’s almost like a song.  It’s just too sad to write” 🎶🎵🎶🎵 (I don’t even like Barry Manilow)
Jean went through some low times with Medicare days running out and therapy being cut back to two days a week. Stomach issues, kidney issues. Blood pressure bottomed out on august 17th (68/41). Spent one night in ICU at SCRMC and several days in the hospital. Seemed like one step forward and two steps back.  Her BFF since they were 5 years old came from Houston a few weeks ago and spent several days with us. A definite morale booster and encouragement for Jean.
Fast forward to last week.  First few days of the week were negative, but she got through them, and seemed like medical issues were lessening.  Then the weekend, and  Barry is off and can spend time with her, and it’s a great couple of days. She continues to work hard in therapy and goes in her wheelchair to participate in activities “down the hall”. Jean is blessed with wonderful praying friends. She loves when you’re able to stop by and  visit. Nitha spent last Thursday with her and gave her a haircut. We were finally able to keep an eye appointment. The doctor said eye glasses will not help her see any better. Wants her to see a specialist in Gulfport. I’m still able to stay with her every day.  We spend a lot of time talking about memories and good friends. She enjoys crossword puzzles. I’m the eyes, and she’s the brain. 🧠 She tells me what to write, and they’re done in no time!!  Keep the prayers going up. She loves you ALL, and can’t wait til she can stand on her own, transfer from one place to the other, walk, run……..whatever God has in store for her.  He’s blessed her. He’s been good to her.  She knows that she is nothing without him.    He is faithful.
❤️,
Joan ( Big sister)
