Jay’s Story

Site created on June 20, 2018

Jay was diagnosed with stage IV neck cancer after discovering a lump on the left side of his neck during the maple syrup season. He will be seeking treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Thank you all for the loving thoughts and prayers, we will continue to keep this site updated as we go along.  Update Number 1: Even with cancer he still has a great golf game.

Journal entry by Milly Sauber

Hey everyone!

Milly here with an update on my Dad.

Today was my Dad’s follow up appointment after 3 rounds of Chemo (those 7 hour, double chemo + immunotherapy treatments).

Well...we got good news! My Dad’s scans look great! The cancer is virtually gone, woo!

Now, what that means is that the chemo and immunotherapy are working. He will continue to have 3 more chemo + immunotherapy treatments, and then will return to Mayo for a follow-up.

His cancer is still considered terminal - meaning he will have to continue treatment, but he’s tolerating the treatment well and has had mild side effects, nothing too bad.

Thank you for all your prayers and good thoughts! We love you all
