Jay’s Story

Site created on August 2, 2019

Jay was traveling for his ministry in May when he damaged his feet in Indonesia. After months of working on all the doctor requests that would hopefully aide in his recovery, he became septic and contracted an infection in his foot. Jay was hospitalized on July 26 and they began antibiotics to attack the infection and try to rid the sepsis from his blood. He ended up having his toe amputated and has been in the hospital to treat the sepsis, infection, and now has been began fighting double pneumonia, fluid in his lungs, and as well as a possible septic vegetation on his heart.

TALE OF THE TOE (from Jay)
It has been almost six months since my first amputation on my right big toe. Two amputation surgeries, one broken hip, and dead skin area later, we are getting closer to the site being healed up, but not there yet. As of tomorrow morning, I will begin three weeks, five mornings a week, of hyper barrack chamber. I will be put in a closed sealed round glass cylinder chamber, where I will be breathing pure oxygen for two hours each day. They hope this will push the healing process into my foot area to cause faster healing. While there can be some bad side effects if something went wrong, we believe this could really help.
Four weeks ago the doctor told me that I was not out of the woods, but there were a lot less trees. Last week he told me that it is no longer "IF" I would heal, but how long it will take. I can see it getting healthier every week. I can't wait until I can walk on this foot again. I am starting to book services for March  and schedule camps and overseas trips for spring and summer  in anticipation that this is going to close up soon. God is in control. It is his time table. I am just along for the ride. Please pray that the toe will close up completely. I can't travel until it does. Six months has been a long time, but I am in good spirits because I know who holds my life.
Blessings to you all!
