Jay’s Story

Site created on March 20, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Jay was diagnosed with dementia in April, 2018.  Along with that diagnosis it was discovered he has Prion Disease (which is always fatal.  After many tests, the results remain the same.

We educated ourselves and have tried nutrition, alternative and traditional medical care and exercise.

The one piece that is missing is socializing with his friends.  We don’t know how long we have, but Jay really misses his friends. He is the same fun Jay we all know and love and enjoys spending time with people.

This is where you can help with a short drop-by visit or taking him out for a bit.  Whether for a meal, a walk, a trip to the Y or to run errands.   He is still our beloved Jay.

Jay doesn’t communicate well on the phone well, so it is probably better to schedule through Becky who keeps his calendar.  So please post a comment and she'll get back to you.
