In July 2019 Javier went to the ER with flu-like symptoms. After being checked, he was diagnosed with pneumonia. He stayed at the hospital for approximately 2 weeks and was released. He had to use oxygen and had numerous doctor’s appointments. After a few weeks with no improvement, it was decided he needed to go back to the hospital. He was quickly placed in the ICU for pneumonia. During that time, pneumonia was the only diagnosis in the doctors’ radar. Doctors were puzzled by his condition. His body was taking too much of a beating, so doctors advised the best strategy was to be induced in a coma for his body to get a chance to recuperate. Javier was in induced coma for over three weeks. However, things started escalating from there. We just kept hearing all kinds of different diagnosis, many of which we have never heard before.
He was diagnosed with vasculitis. Vasculitis is rare condition characterized by the inflammation of blood vessels. The particular kind that attacked Javier’s body is attacking his immune system. This started to affect his organs. His condition would change from one day to another. It became difficult to understand and much more difficult to explain. After three weeks, he was awoken. His recovery after that was on the rise. He was taken out the ICU and was transferred to the recovery unit in the hospital. He was on physical therapy to learn how to walk again. It seemed that the worse was over. Unfortunately, his white cells were dangerously low. He saw how everyone around him would wear special garments and face masks. He was told his kidneys had been affected and needed dialysis. His condition started to worsen, and he went back to the ICU. Within days, he was back in a coma! A couple of months later; still on a ventilator he was transferred to another hospital in Irvine, CA. During his stay there, he came out of the coma and shortly after a tracheotomy was performed. He was on dialysis for periods of 24 hours at times. At one time or another, he had tons and tons of meds being pushed into his body. His fingers being pocked constantly to check his blood sugar level. He had ports for IV on his arms, and neck.
Javier has been bedridden since then, causing his muscles to stunt and a bad & painful bed sore on his lower back. He is able to communicate with others by moving his lips – but can’t emit sounds. He is awake and conscious.
He was recently transferred to Kindred Hospital in Brea (875 N Brea Brea, CA 92821). He is aware of where he and his condition. He is to start therapy for movement, speech and to be weaned out of the ventilator. This hospital specializes on those things. It is very encouraging for him to receive visits and to know people like you are praying for him.
He is aware that our amazing, loving, healing God by his side. The Lord is taking him through a very special journey, where he has been able to feel God’s presence and he has seen HIM in visions and dreams. Please continue to pray for him, for healing, for victory. Let our prayer be with faith just like Matthew 21:22 says “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” And James 5:15 says “And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise JAVIER up.”

En julio de 2019, Javier fue a la sala de emergencias con síntomas parecidos a la gripe. Después de ser revisado, le diagnosticaron neumonía. Permaneció en el hospital durante aproximadamente 2 semanas. En casa tuvo que usar oxígeno y con citas médicas casi diariamente. Después de algunas semanas sin mejoría, se decidió que necesitaba regresar al hospital. Fue colocado rápidamente en cuidados intensivos por neumonía. Durante ese tiempo, la neumonía fue el único diagnóstico en el radar de los médicos. Los doctores estaban desconcertados por su condición y su cuerpo estaba siendo afectado drásticamente, por lo que los médicos aconsejaron que la mejor estrategia fuera inducirlo a un coma para que su cuerpo tuviera la oportunidad de recuperarse. Javier estuvo en coma inducido un poco más de tres semanas. Sin embargo, las cosas comenzaron a escalar desde allí. Seguíamos escuchando todo tipo de diagnósticos diferentes, muchos de los cuales nunca habíamos escuchado.
Fue diagnosticado con vasculitis. La vasculitis es una condición rara caracterizada por la inflamación de los vasos sanguíneos. Este tipo de vasculitis en particular que atacó el cuerpo de Javier está atacando su sistema inmunológico. Esto comenzó a afectar sus órganos. Su condición cambiaba de un día para otro. Era muy difícil de entender los diferentes diagnósticos y mucho más difícil de explicar. Después de tres semanas, despertó del coma, y comenzamos a ver pronta recuperación. Lo sacaron de cuidados intensivos y lo transfirieron a la unidad de recuperación en el hospital. Estaba en fisioterapia para aprender a caminar de nuevo. Parecía que lo peor había pasado. Lamentablemente, su doctor le dijo que los glóbulos blancos estaban peligrosamente bajos y que sus riñones habían sido afectados y necesitaban diálisis. Su condición comenzó a empeorar y lo regresaron a cuidados intensivos. ¡En cuestión de días, volvió a estar en coma! Aun conectado al respirador artificial, durante este tiempo fue trasladado a otro hospital en Irvine, CA.
En el Hospital de Irvine, despertó del coma y poco después se le practicó una traqueotomía. Estuvo en diálisis por períodos de 24 horas a veces. En un momento u otro, tenía muchísimos medicamentos en su cuerpo. Sus dedos son piqueteados constantemente para verificar su nivel de azúcar en la sangre.
Javier, ha estado postrado en cama desde entonces, haciendo que sus músculos se atrofien y una dolorosa llaga en la parte baja de su espalda se creara. Ahora, Javier se puede comunicar con los demás moviendo solo sus labios, pero no puede emitir sonidos. Está despierto y consciente.
Recientemente fue transferido al Hospital Kindred en Brea (875 N Brea Brea, CA 92821). Javier esta despierto y consciente de su condición. Comenzará terapia física, terapia para el habla y también para ser desconectado del ventilador y así poder respirar por sí solo.
Para Javier, es de mucho ánimo recibir visitas y saber que personas como ustedes están orando por él. Él está consciente de que nuestro Dios Todopoderoso está a su lado. El Señor lo está llevando a través de un jornada muy especial, donde ha podido sentir la presencia de Dios y lo ha visto por medio de visiones y sueños.
Les pedimos de su continua oración por él y por sanidad. Que nuestra oración sea con fe tal como Mateo 21:22 dice "Si crees, recibirás lo que pidas en oración". Y Santiago 5:15 dice: "Y la oración ofrecida en fe curará a la persona enferma; el Señor levantará a JAVIER.”
