Hello Friends and Family,
I’m grateful to share that it’s been six months since the last post and since then, Mom’s scans continue to show no new tumor growth. The CA-19 test has stayed around the same, decreased slightly, but thankfully it has not increased by a significant means.
She’s continued to receive chemo infusions every other week with a chemo pack that stays on for an additional 48 hours. Until the doctor feels comfortable with her scans and blood marker test results, they will have her continue this routine.
November marked four years of fighting stage IV pancreatic cancer! Mom is one tough lady and in spite of the side effects, she continues to stay strong and faithful! Dad is an absolutely incredible care taker and continues to go above and beyond to make sure mom has everything she needs and wants to feel comfortable, medicated, well rested, fed, happy, safely driven to her appointments and outings, and fulfill her daily Starbucks craving.
I asked mom if she had any prayer requests and she shared the following:
- For continued strength for Tom as he supports me. Thank goodness he has golf and hunting for fun!
- PET Scan on Feb. 22nd doesn’t show any new or significant cancer. In other words, nothing “lights up on the scan.”
- My cancer marker numbers start to go down to 500 or less following my next two chemos.
My prayer request would be for comfort for Mom as she continues to deal with the side effects of cancer. It’s tough, exhausting, and at times depressing. I ask for prayers of continued strength, peace, and that she is able to continue enjoying a great quality of life.
