Journal entry by Jennifer Spalding —
Hi everyone,
Well 2 weeks turned into a month of rehab but we finally have a discharge date of Tuesday Oct 18th. Mom has done great with the rehab and we will continue on with it as we move back to Landon Ridge. She is very excited to get back as she does not like the food at the rehab facility! 😂
We have two more appointments at the end of the month for a CT scan and then with the neurosurgeon. Assuming all goes well we won't have any more for a few months.
I was able to purchase a wheelchair accessible van and hopefully will be delivered in the next few days. This will make it much easier for my brother and I to get her to her doctor appointments and make her more mobile to get out and do things. She is really looking forward to that.
This Saturday will be one year since her stroke. It's been an extremely tough year for her and our family (and her friends) but I'm hoping we are at a point where we can start working on getting into a "new normal".
As always I'm beyond grateful to everyone who loves and has continued to support my Mom and has continued to show kindness in so many ways to myself and my family.
Much love,
Jen + Family
