Journal entry by Keely Pollard

Janie had her monthly oncologist and infusion appointment on Tuesday, March 2nd with a PET scan read out. While she is not considered NED (no evidence of active disease), there was slight improvement from the last PET scan with remaining bone metastasis and her lungs are about the same. We are still believing a cure will happen but, no matter the outcome, God continues to teach our family patience in the waiting, faith in believing, and wisdom in persevering.

The scan also revealed a kidney stone where she has been having dull to sharp pains in the lower left abdomen, so she has scheduled an appointment to see a urologist this Thursday. They also noted inflammation in the tissues of her esophagus so she will be making some adjustments to her diet. Eating healthy meals three times a day and trying to gain weight, as she is still below a healthy weight, is challenging and time consuming so it’s a good thing she likes to cook and be in the kitchen.

The neck and shoulder pain continues to be a problem and requires a lot of pampering to keep it under control.

From Janie:

“At times it can be a challenge to keep my mind in check with what my faith tells me is true and keeping stress to a minimum or nonexistent. While this isn’t all consuming for me, it sure makes me more compassionate towards people who struggle with this because I get it. I find my biggest joy when serving my family, even in small ways, and loving on them. or helping with a friends Christian based non-profit organization, and sharing the printed Bible verses when I go to appointments.

I have been increasing work hours each week and love and appreciate my team and company!

So many faith stories these past 9 months and blessings from Heaven are way more numerous than anything else going on. I will write them all in one place someday!

I don’t feel like I have a choice on the Covid vaccine due to my compromised lungs and low immune system so I get the first shot next week.”

If you can pray for these areas we would be so grateful. You are loved and prayed for!

  • Kidney stone pain and appointment this Thursday

  • Neck pain to resolve

  • Continuing digestive challenges- she will be seeing the Gastroenterology doctor next week

  • The new balanced diet will be easy, enjoyable, and help fight cancer

  • The COVID-19 shot will have no short term or long term implications, especially with active cancer

  • Faith will continue to deepen and more opportunities to share faith with others

  • As always a complete cure!!!
