Janice’s Story

Site created on February 8, 2021

In early February, Janice was diagnosed with breast cancer. Janice has been and continues to be a strong pillar of faith, a wonderful mentor and prayer warrior for her family and friends. She is loved by many and this page will be dedicated to keeping family and friends informed of her journey as she fights this battle. Thank you in advance for your prayers, support and words of encouragement.

Journal entry by Lynda Ackert

Dear Friends and Family,

We have had a great trip. We have spent time just about every day with our grandchildren.  We’ve gotten to spend so much quality time with them.  We have felt every one of our seventy-plus years and need to go home to rest up!  But what a joy to be with them daily.

We leave tonight at 7:45 pm, which is 1145pm Denver time.  It’s a direct flight.  Would you pray that my arm doesn’t swell considerably?  It began to swell three days after the flight here.  Looks like long flights are a trigger for it.

It has been so wonderful to not need oxygen while I'm here. Please pray for me as I have to use oxygen as soon as the flight takes off, I will be coming back to Denver on oxygen full-time. It's so difficult after being oxygen free for five weeks.

Also, please pray that we both can sleep on the flight, for pain levels and rest legs to calm, and that my arm doesn’t swell.

We arrive in Denver at 6:00 am.

I am incredibly grateful for your prayers,
Janice
