I was profoundly saddened to hear about Jan's passing. I initially met her in the summer of 1988 when I arrived from China to pursue graduate studies with her husband, Dr. Kass. Jan was the first physician-scientist I met and collaborated with, left a lasting impression. Jan was not only kind, intelligent, and generous but also a hardworking individual. I gleaned invaluable lesions from her across various aspects of life. Her unwavering dedication to her patients served as a source of inspiration, leading me to eventually pursue a career in medicine as a neurologist after several years of research experience. Jan's spirit lives on in the heartwarming recollections we shared. Huijuan
