I went to the doctor yesterday, my drains are still draining too much to take them out. The nurse practitioner said I was doing very well for the first week postop. I’ve been having terrible nerve pain just shoots and feels like electrical shock it hurts so much. They increased my gabapentin I am muscle relaxer. Wow that helps a lot I took it when I got home and I took the increased dose before bed last night I slept much better.
Got up this morning first time I have taken a full shower since surgery last week. John had to help me shower and wash my hair because I’m not allowed to raise my arms above my shoulders. He’s not good at washing hair a little rough LOL but he got the job done. He’s such a wonderful nurse. He help me shower wash my hair and get put back together took us an hour but we did it. With four tubes hanging out of you and you have to be careful with that I can’t bend over I can’t raise my hands I can’t do much LOL.
I will be so glad when I can take these drains out we have to empty them twice a day and strip the lines, they took all the dressing off so now John has to dress my incisions. Do you think you’ll have his nursing degree by the time I recover and be ready for the next surgery?
