Journal entry by Jana Jo Uhlendorf

This site is set up on Jana Jo’s behalf to keep her friends and family informed of her progress. On October 2nd 2021, Jana Jo fell victim to a stroke while doing Grace and Favor mission work in Uganda. She has been transported back to the US and has spent the last two weeks in the hospital being cared for and evaluated. She is suffering from aphasia and apraxia which is impacting her ability to communicate. She has made some good progress to date, but still has some work to do. Jana Jo is also paralyzed on the right side of her body.

Her next step is intensive rehabilitation at the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at UW Medical Center - Montlake 1959 NE Pacific Street. She was transported there on 11/15/2021. Jana Jo will be there for 2-4 weeks and then move to a group home for additional rehabilitation.

Please check back here for future updates.

Jana Jo’s sister Gina is coordinating Jana Jo’s care. You can reach her at 214 514 1839 or gentile.gina@gmail.com.
