Jamie’s Story

Site created on September 20, 2019

It is truly amazing to have so many caring and wonderful people in our lives. Since Jamie's breast cancer diagnosis on September 3rd, 2019- it has felt like a roller coaster ride that we didn't sign up for! However, it has also brought everyone in our lives closer to us, and we are truly blessed with how many of you there are that love Jamie and our family and who want to help.

We have decided to use Caring Bridge to keep family and friends updated in one place. This is where we will post all of the medical updates as they come in and where we can suggest ways to help. Thanks for visiting the site!

Journal entry by Eliza Seavey

Okay. Well this amazing woman made it through surgery yesterday with flying colors! They removed four lymph nodes which were all negative at first look! The final pathology will take a few days, but fingers crossed they don’t show any signs of cancer and then Jamie will be done with cancer treatments! If any of the lymph nodes show signs of cancer the she may need radiation.  This morning we are discussing all the parts of yesterday that Jamie doesn’t remember- which is basically the whole day! She was still out of it from the anesthesia most of the afternoon and it’s been fun to fill her in on what she missed! Jamies double mastectomy with no reconstruction was a huge surgery and it will take a lot of time to adjust to how she looks now. It’s all part of the healing process. Hopefully she will be able to concentrate on the future with her whole self and not worry about one more hurdle to get over. Thanks again to everyone for your love and support.
