Jamie’s Story

Site created on September 4, 2021

Welcome to Jamie (Musselman) Kraisinger's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

As a breast cancer survivor, Jamie knows about fighting a challenging medical condition. She is now faced with another equally difficult diagnosis of COVID Pneumonia. Jamie Kraisinger of Overland Park, Kansas is the daughter of Leon and Verna Lee Musselman, Clay Center. She was raised in the Clay Center community and is a 1991 graduate of CCCHS.

Kraisinger has been in the KU Medical Center for COVID Pneumonia since August 22. She has been receiving oxygen and is steadily improving. Through physical and occupational therapy, Kraisinger has been able to regain muscle movement. She is planning to go to a rehabilitation center after her hospital stay so the transition home will be easier. This will help build continued strength so she can take care of herself when she returns home.

Kraisinger is a single mother and has a 16-year-old son, Garrett. She has private health insurance but with a high deductible. Kraisinger works as a Pharmacy Technician at CVS Pharmacy in Overland Park but has no paid time off work. The last day she was able to work was August 12, she became ill with COVID on August 13.  Her income will resume when she is out of the rehabilitation hospital and strong enough to return to work. She just recently discovered she won’t be receiving any disability benefits either.

The greatest source of hope is the love of family and friends, and this is a great way to express your encouraging thoughts and best wishes to Kraisinger through her recovery process.

Anyone wishing to help Jamie with medical expenses can send a donation to Jamie Kraisinger (checks made out to her) and mail them to Capitol Federal Savings Bank, ℅ Sondra Todd, Customer Service Representative, 10101 College Blvd., Overland Park, KS 66210.

Please keep Jamie and her family in your prayers as she continues to fight this deadly disease and please give this fundraiser your prayerful consideration as this family needs our help. She greatly appreciates the kindness of her family and friends doing this for her during this challenging time in her life.
