James’s Story

Site created on October 27, 2019

James suffered a stroke on October 10, 2019.  This was followed by a pulmonary embolism on the 12th.  Recovery will be a long haul.

At this time, James' parents, Doug and Tearesa, are keeping the immediate family updated via e-mail.  At some point, I hope that they or James will take over this site.  Until then, I will relay the information they send out so that friends and extended family can be keep up on his progress.

Please keep James and his whole family in your prayers.
God bless,
Michele (James' aunt)

Subject: 2019-12-23 I've been remiss again...

James is doing well at his parents' home. We reworked one of the bedrooms for him, and he is quite comfortable.

The stairs are not a "problem", but they are a "challenge"... He has made it to his bed every night, as opposed to leaving him sleeping on the stairs...

His endurance is improving. His strength has started to take a real upturn in the last 3-5 days. His bad ankle is much better. He is doing well at therapy (2-3 times a week). He is cooking meals for us (really good stir fry!). His mood is good. He sleeps well.

Not a lot else to say, other than visible improvement day to day, and that we are thankful we don't have snow yet!

Phone calls and emails are still appreciated; just interacting with Mom and Dad might get old after a while...

He is looking forward to seeing extended family in a few days....

Love you all. Please keep praying for us all...
