Journal entry by Cathy Poteet

James Marion Moore, Sr of Franklin, NC passed away at the age of 82, Wednesday, January 13 surrounded by his family.
James (Jim or Jimmy to those that knew him well) was born in Franklin, NC December 18, 1938 to Sadie Cunningham Moore and Thomas Harley Moore. He was the youngest child of Sadie and only child of Thomas. Jim graduated from Rabun Gap Nacoochee School. He then attended University of Georgia for a year before enlisting in the Air Force. After being honorably discharged in 1964, Jim re-enrolled at UGA and graduated with a minor in economics and major in Agriculture. Jim reconnected with his high school sweetheart Judy Clark and they were married in the summer of 1967. It was his dream to be his own boss and have his own dairy farm. After the many years of hard work and sacrifice that he and his family made on the dairy farm, he was finally able to open the Spring Ridge Creamery. The Creamery was open for 21 years and was sold due to his declining health in 2018.

His death was preceded by his loving wife Julia (Judy) Clark Moore. He is survived by his children; Catherine Moore Poteet (David Poteet) Thomas Alan Moore, James Marion Moore, Jr (Rebecca Moore); his grandchildren Braden Poteet, Gavin Poteet, Kayley Moore and Alexander Moore; great grandson Grayson Crisp; sister Billie Carson and many extended family members.
