Journal entry by John Steinhaus —
Hello Jim Taylor,
This is John Steinhaus. We finally said "Adios" to Chico and California to boot and have been living in Portland, OR, the last three years. We both love it here. Answered the call of the grandchildren and we are thrilled we did it. Georgia said she and Rich talked to you last night. I put a notice up on the Yreka Class of 1970 Page on Facebook this morning so some classmates would get the word about your condition and request for contact. I hope someone makes you aware of this "Caring Bridge" connection, too. I am going to go back and paste the link to this into the Facebook site. Out of curiosity, did the address I used in Phoenix work to get your mailed notification about the reunion that isn't going to happen until next summer? I certainly hope so. I will certainly hold you in my thoughts, you'll have to bear with me about the prayers aspect as I've finally given up on telling God what to do. He never really seemed very interested in my ideas anyway. Listen to what they tell you to do. I can't be the only one looking forward to seeing you if and when we finally get to hold this 50th Reunion. Take care and get well. If you have a telephone number we can use, please contrive to send it out so we can give you a call.
Always my best,
John Steinhaus
