James’s Story

Site created on March 26, 2024

My dad, James Gillespie, was involved in a severe train accident that happened during the recent snow storm, early Monday morning (March 25th, 2024). This page is to provide updates as we navigate his road to recovery.

Update:
The surgeon came in this morning to check on dad. They did a CT scan yesterday to see if the shunt was working. The shunt is in fact working however, Dr. Obasi wants to make sure the pressures inside his skull are where they need to be..so he is figuring out what dads baselines were before and then he can adjust the shunt accordingly. It’s a fine balance. You can’t have too much fluid and you can’t have too little fluid. Each causes different things to happen in the brain. Dad still seems really tired from the other day, but that is expected with what he’s been through the past few days. Thank you everyone who has come to visit him. I know he appreciates it so much. I know we do. Thank you for praying for him. God is working on him. Jesus is healing. Continue to pray for our dad. God is so good. We trust the plans He has. Thank you God for getting dad to this point. We will continue to place all our trust and faith in you.❤️🙏🏻Please keep dad safe and healthy Lord.
We love you dad.
Stay Tough. 💪🏻
