Journal entry by Kristen Bryan-Wilson

This the hardest thing that I have had to write in a while. I guess this site is basically a way for us to share with those who love and care about us and our beloved father what his going on with him right now.

So around March 2019 (unbeknownst to us) my Dad began to experience internal bleeding but being the man that he is he decided to finish out the school year and work until June. Around the end of May we noticed that he seemed to be getting weaker and was moving slow, finally we convinced him to go to his beloved V.A hospital and get checked out. At that time they told him that he has Scurvy of all things so they sent him home and gave him vitamin C. In the middle of June he still wasn't feeling much like himself and we still didn't have answers h

He began to feel weaker and had more bleeding so we pushed him to go back and a few weeks later  a Colonoscopy and a CT scan a few days later. During that time Dad began to bleed even more and we had to take him to the ER and he they kept him overnight for observation. The next day the doctors confirmed that there was a malignant mass in his colon.

About 2 weeks later then informed us that on the CT scan they found spots in his lung as well as his liver. Understandably this shook us all to our core as our Dad is the center of the family and has always been there. At this point we do not have a Staging nor do we really know what the prognosis is for this awful disease.

The V.A seems to be in no urgent rush to get him staged and treated nor have they been able to tell us what next steps are for his treatment IF he can be treated.

We are asking that folks reading this will pray for an  extension on our father's days on earth and that he can have a pain-free time.

We are also looking to change his care facility from the V.A to another local cancer treatment center, it is just all dependent on insurance and other financial factors.

Please keep our family in your prayers, especially Daddy.
