Journal entry by James Clem —
Hello family and friends. So, I’ve been admitted to Memorial Hospital In Chattanooga with a potential COVID-19 infection. A couple of days ago, I woke up early with a fever of 102.9 and even though that broke in a few hours I still felt a lot of pain. I had another kyphoplasty last week (L5, again) because the back pain had gotten terrible again. That seemed to work well, but then this new thing started. The pain wasn’t as bad but it was continuous. Finally my oncologist sent me to the ER and I was admitted on a variety of medication and tested for Covid-19. The swab was negative bu the doctors were seeing COVID symptoms so further testing was done. After another negative swab they’ve decided it’s some other Infection. My breathing has been worse, but that and the pain are improving. Hopefully I can go home today. It’s very weird being separated from Diane and the girls like this. I feel for those families who have had to watch their loved ones suffer and die while separated from them.
OK this is probably too much already. God bless and take care everyone.
