Hello and welcome to the Jake Stefano Crushes Cancer caring bridge page! Jake has been fighting neuroblastoma since he was a cute little 5 year old. He is now a sarcastic little 10 year old, and still fighting.

This site is intended to keep our friends and family updated on Jake’s fight. We CAN NOT fight this battle without you. YOU all are what keeps us going, helping us and cheering us on and breathing for us when we forget. Thank you so very much for doing your part.

We cannot thank you enough for your love and support and kind words. It is a humbling privilege to experience humanity’s best when we are at our worst. Thank you so much for that.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Laura Stefano

Hello dear friends,
Time for a little update.

Jake has been feeling ok. I am so thankful for that.

The Car T trial is scheduled to start late June. I am putting every ounce of hope and strength I have into looking forward to that. I don’t know if I should, but that’s what’s happening.

He will have to do another round of MIBG therapy to keep him stable. Probably around Mother’s Day.

We have been so lucky to have so much support and love from friends and family. I’ll tell you about #jakestrongbellmawr Fridays in another post.

The big news is that we decided to send Jake back to school. Today will be his first day back since September!

We are by no means out of the woods. We just wanted him to enjoy being a 4th grader for a few weeks. His school has been the paradigm of helpful and supportive.

I have been so excited every day since we made this decision. Now that it’s here, I am freaking out.

I read this quote a while ago that said being a parent is like watching your heart walk around outside of your body. I feel that today.
