Jaden’s Story

Site created on April 10, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.  Thank you so much to everyone for all of the prayers and well wishes.  I can not tell you how much I appreciate all the positive things that everyone has said.
On April 1st, Jaden was in Pierre, SD doing his physical testing for the SD highway patrol.  He had been working out 5-6 days per week to keep in shape and prepare for his testing.  Near the end of his run, his legs started to cramp and it seemed like they were not doing what he was trying to get them to do.  He fell to the ground but proceeded to get up and finish the run.  At the end, he again, fell to the ground but this time he was unable to stand back up.  When the other people tried to get him up, he just fell back to the ground.  The EMT's were called and when he got in the ambulance, his blood pressure was 203/147.  He was taken to the ER at Avera St. Mary's.  The ER Doctor was absolutely amazing and he knew that something wasn't right and didn't stop until he figured it out.  They found a tumor on Jaden's adrenal gland and a smaller one just below with some swelling or growth on his lymph nodes.  He also was found to have lesions or spots on his lower back, sacrum and right pelvic bone.  He was sent home with a appt scheduled at the Mayo in Rochester and blood pressure medication.
