Morning everyone!

A lot has changed this week!

At the start of the week Jacob figured out how to eat a lot better. He began to finish the bottles and was not having to rely on the NG tube as much. He was also gaining weight steadily and still is 💪🏻

His breathing issue appears to have gone away. The monitor was for once pretty quite which was great for Zach and I.

By Thursday we were told they would remove the NG tube since it needed to be changed but the nurse informed us she wouldn’t put it back in if he ate well. That night he ate like a champ and the nurse completed his hearing test and car seat test that night as well. All of which he passed!!

By Friday we were being told to prepare for him to come home as it could be close. Zach and I were also told we had to stay the night as he would be finally in the room with us not attached to any machines 👍🏻

Fast forward to Saturday after a good night of feeding with mom and dad and an all clear check up from the neonatal specialist, we got discharged home!!

Our little guy has been home since Saturday morning and we are soaking in the feeling of finally being a family all together. Mom and dad also love not having to go back and forth or change a diaper with cords everywhere.

We are hopeful he continues to gain weight and eat like a champion so he can stay home. Due to his prematurity he has to keep his progress or he can end up back in the NICU. Based on his feedings as home, I don’t see that happening in the future 👍🏻

We can’t thank everyone enough for the prayers, thoughts, messages, cards and gifts we have received through out this entire process. We are adjusting to parenthood and loving every minute of it. We are hopeful this virus stuff slows down so we can introduce the cute little one to everyone soon!

21 days spent in the NICU. Welcome home Jacob ❤️

Hopefully this is the last post of this page 👍🏻 Thanks everyone!
