Journal entry by Jean Miley

It's been a week since we gathered to celebrate Jack's life. Thank you to all who were able to join us at the Laurelhurst Club on our mostly sunny day.  Family and friends regaled us with tales of Jack's adventures (and misadventures) and read poems and Jenny provided a wonderful slide show of Jack's life.  Grandchildren Sam and Liv's duet of 'Don't Fence Men In' was the perfect ending.  I'm grateful to you all.

Thank you also to friends and family who helped with cookies, flowers, programs, set-up, and clean-up.  We couldn't have done it without you.

It was a day Jack would have appreciated: good weather, good stories, good food and friends and family getting acquainted or picking up where they left off.

Many of us are missing Jack, but I hope you're as comforted as I am by good memories and the knowledge that he lived a happy life.

I wish each of you a happy Thanksgiving in the company of loving friends and family.
