Jack’s Story

Site created on August 29, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.

Here is a little picture of Jack’s story:
On Tuesday August 27th we had an appointment with Jack’s pediatrician for abdominal pains, that he has been having on and off. They drew blood, had an ultrasound and x-ray done. Later that day we talked to the Pediatric Oncologist about the results. They were concerned about a mass that they found on the ultrasound and decided to admit him into the hospital over night to get a CT scan. Later that same night we were told that Jack most likely had a type of cancer and that they wanted him to be flown to Denver Children’s Hospital in Aurora, CO, for further testing.

We arrived at Children’s Hospital on Wednesday August 28th. That is where our story started on this website. We are taking it at a day-by-day journey. We are in great hands and the staff have been outstanding.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Heather Lang

Hello!!! I know it has been awhile since we posted any update on Jack. Yesterday Jack had his monthly Doctors appointments and he is doing great. His blood work remains good and his ultrasound was good too! Jack is loving the summer months and has been busy playing with friends, learning to swing by himself, riding a three wheeler, building more Legos, playing in the water and bonding with his brother Will. We are very thankful that the cancer has not returned and that Jack is a healthy entergetic boy. We hope and pray that all of you are doing well and staying healthy!
