Jackie’s Story

Site created on January 28, 2020

We are cast down, but not destroyed. We are perplexed, but not in despair. Persecuted by this wretched cancer, but not forsaken.  Our Father God has the situation well in hand. Thank you for your care and prayers! ...Death is only a horizon; and a horizon is nothing but the limit of our sight...

In Memoriam for H. Spafford "We seem to give him back to Thee, dear God, who gavest him to us.  Yet as Thou didst not lose him in giving, so we have not lost him by his return.  Not as the world giveth, givest Thou, O Lover of souls!  What Thou givest, Thou takest not away.  For what is Thine is ours always:  if we are Thine.  And life is eternal, and love is immortal: and death is only a horizon; and a horizon is nothing but the limit of our sight!  Lift us up, strong Son of God, that we may further see; cleanse our eyes that we may see more clearly; draw us closer to Thyself, that we may know ourselves nearer to our beloved ones who are with Thee.  And while thou dost prepare a place for us, prepare us for that happy place, that where they are, and Thou art, we too may be, in inseparable bliss, forever."
Reading that changed my whole outlook. 💞

Newest Update

Journal entry by Leslie Linnebur

Thank you everyone for your heartfelt prayers and messages. Jackie was deeply loved and will be sorely missed. It is a big and stunning loss for her family, and all of us who loved her are indeed heartbroken. While Lorelei does not actively monitor this site, please know that we are passing along all of your well wishes, prayers, and love to her.

I am at a loss to say anything more about my dearest friend at the moment but I so echo her sister, Effie’s, warm words (in the comments) and really just wanted to provide everyone with an update.

There will be no public services in the near term - close family will likely gather in the next couple of months to celebrate her life. Please feel free to gather or commemorate Jackie as befits each and every one of you. If you have a desire to honor her in the way of a donation, Jackie would have loved it if you would pick your favorite charity and provide them with some support.

For those wishing to send Lorelei your condolences, she and her husband, Jason, were living with Jackie at her home address of 29 N. Millbourne Ave, Upper Darby, PA 19082. They are currently staying with good friends so only mail (no flowers or packages) would be best to be sent there.

On a big sidenote, as you know, Jackie‘s constant and beloved companion was her sweet kitty, Lieben. We are looking for a home for the dear, old kitten and would very much like your help in finding a caring, loving home for her to live out her old age. If you can help or know of someone who would be willing to care for her, please either leave a comment below or you can reach out to me at leslie@gritdesign.biz and I would be happy to tell you more.

As Effie has said, sleep now sweet Jackie, may you Rest In Peace. All our love.
